Michael McGoey is an experienced adviser, deal maker, underwriter, securities and transaction structuring expert and capital raiser across many industries, with a specialization in real estate.  He uses his 25+ years’ experience in commercial real estate and investment banking to serve corporate clients and real estate asset owners and financial institutions in analyzing opportunities, structuring solutions and raising capital.  

Mr. McGoey practiced law for 5 years in the securities and secured transactions areas at multinational conglomerate Borg-Warner Corporation, and acted there as an internal management consultant in the manufacturing, business and financial services business segments.  Michael moved from Borg-Warner to UBS Securities for the next 11 years, rising to Executive Director in the Debt Capital Markets area, where he headed securitized real estate debt distribution for all US assets on a global basis.  He also ran the Credit Tenant Lease business at UBS for 3 years, providing sale/leaseback advice, structuring and equity and debt placement for corporate and institutional clients throughout the US.  

Michael left UBS and founded Structured Credit Partners with ex-colleagues, where he helped select the portfolio, structure the deal and achieve ratings for the first CDO backed exclusively by real estate collateral.  After SCP merged into Wachovia, he became Managing Director in charge of commercial real estate investment banking at StormHarbour Securities and Pierpont Securities in New York.  In the course of his career he has analyzed, structured, closed and sold in excess of $4 billion of debt, preferred and common equity and mezzanine positions.

Michael holds an MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, a JD degree from Loyola University of Chicago, and a BA in History and Anthropology with honors from Washington University in St. Louis.
